FolkWorks is the longtime dream of Cease Giddings, who wanted to share with the public the treasures that can be found in the American folk art and antique world. She owns the gallery with her husband, Paul.

After 28 overseas moves in almost as many years during Paul’s military career, the couple settled in Evanston, Illinois. They chose Cease’s childhood neighborhood as the site for their gallery, marking the culmination of decades of planning and preparation.

During their travels, Cease and Paul came into contact with a range of artists and artistic styles, which is reflected in the rich colors and textures of FolkWorks Gallery.

The Gallery offers a special Halloween Show in the Fall and their BIG Santa Show opens the first Friday in
November and features one of a kind hand carved Santas Angels,Trees and Ornaments  FolkWorks is
transformed into a  Christmas Wonderland.

Vintage Jewelry Bakelite small antiques Hand Carved Santas Angels Witches Seasonal specials and antique Quilts are featured throughout the year.

In keeping with the neighborhood feel of its locale, this distinctive gallery is intimate and personal. The proprietors build close relationships with their customers, always helping them to find just the right piece. They also work regularly with the artists they represent, which number nearly 300 in 44 states.
